Located one hour north of Philadelphia, Lake Nockamixon is a 1,450-acre impoundment with a nice variety of fish species. Perch, crappie, bass, catfish, walleye, chain pickerel, sunfish and muskie all thrive here. The lake had a 20-hp limit for boat motors which keeps boat traffic in check for those who prefer peaceful serenity while fishing. Sail boats, canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats are the norm here. There are areas of the lake accessible for shoreline fishing - some via hiking trails around the lake. Ice fishing in winter is allowed when safe ice conditions permit.
