Popular Fish Species Sardis Lake, MS
Black Crappie - White Crappie

Current Report: Good
Outlook: Good To Very Good
If you like catching and eating big, fat crappie, Sardis Lake would be an ideal destination. Crappie are being caught all over the lake around brush, rocky points and in creek channel bays like Hoke Creek. Spring is the premiere time to be on the water as crappie move into shallow coves to spawn. Successful anglers are casting small crappie jigs or live minnows. Light tackle with 4 lb to 8 lb line is ideal.
Largemouth Bass

Current Report: Good To Very Good
Outlook: Very Good
Bass are currently moving into creeks and starting the spawning process. Plastic worms, jigs and jerkbaits are catching nice largemouth bass here, as are vibrating jigs. During slow times, when the bass are finicky, many anglers are switching to a stick worm, rigged wacky style, with good success. Once the spawn is complete, these bass typically move to ledges and points near the deeper water of the river and creek channels. Previous months have been delivering good stringers in these areas using deep-diving crankbaits, Carolina rigs and drop shots.
White Bass

Current Report: Good
Outlook: Good
White bass are starting their spawn run as the water temperature is getting into the mid 50's. Reports from previous years indicate that this is a great time to load up as they are running up river in big schools. The area around the Highway 7 Bridge is a good place to start. Other creeks with smaller schools include Clear Creek and Toby Tubby Creek. They should congregate in these areas for several weeks. Swimbaits, curly-tail jigs, underspins, small crankbaits, small jerkbaits, and most any lure that looks like baitfish are catching plenty of fish. During Summer, Fall and Winter the white bass migrate back to the main lake areas, following baitfish.
