Guide To Fishing At Lake Iatt
AKA: Iatt Lake
Restricted to non-motorized boating, Lake Iatt is a 6,600-acre lake known for its largemouth bass, bream and crappie fishing. It is located in the north-central part of the state, 5 miles east of Colfax, LA. Fishing pressure is light due to the boating restrictions, which enhances chances for a trophy fish.
When full, there is over 60 miles of shoreline, plus the lake is lined with cypress trees and vegetation which provides shade and cover for the fish and baitfish. Famous for big bass, crappie and bream, the lake also offers fishing for other sunfish and catfish. Canoes and kayaks are an ideal watercraft for fishing the vegetation-choked backwaters here.
