Fishing At Detroit Lake
AKA: Detroit Reservoir
Fishing for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon at Detroit Lake in Oregon.
Well stocked by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Detroit Lake is one of the favorite trout fishing lakes in Oregon. This 3,500-acre reservoir is located in the northwest part of the state, at Detroit, OR. Roads and pathways surround most of the 32 miles of shoreline, making it easy to fish from the bank. Casting from shore or a boat, both work well here, as does trolling for both trout and salmon. Spectacular views of the lake, mountains and fir trees make this a very pleasant sightseeing destination. The excellent fishing is a bonus. Boat launch ramps, boat rentals and marina services are all available to enhance your fishing trip. Nearly 300 camp sites, many on the water, await your arrival. Lodging, convenience stores and restaurants are all easily accessed to make your stay a pleasant one.
