Lake Fork, TX

Known for lunker largemouth bass, Lake Fork (Lake Fork Reservoir) is a 27,000-acre lake in the north-central part of the state, at Emory, TX. There are over 300 miles of shoreline to fish, along with points, humps, channels and ledges. The lake is spotted with submerged timber, brush, man-made fish attractors, hydrilla and boat docks which provide cover for bass and other fish species. The timber can be a hazard when navigating so caution is the word of the day.

Lake Fork, located in Northeast Texas, is widely recognized as one of the premier bass fishing destinations in the United States. Renowned for its trophy-sized largemouth bass, Lake Fork attracts anglers from across the country who seek the thrill of landing a true lunker. The lake's abundant structure, submerged timber, and extensive vegetation provide an ideal habitat for bass, contributing to its reputation as a top-notch bass fishery. In addition to bass, anglers can also target other popular species such as catfish, crappie, and sunfish, ensuring a diverse and exciting fishing experience.

Fall, winter and spring are the ideal seasons to fish here. In summer, night fishing is the only way to beat the hot weather - however the fishing can often be excellent on summer nights. White bass, crappie and sunfish fishing can also be exceptional at times. Giant catfish roam these waters and can be caught year round. Hybrid stripers, along with the white bass, run in wolf packs chasing schools of baitfish and can be caught anywhere from the surface to the deeper river channels. Other fish species in Lake Fork include bowfin and gar. Plenty of boat launch ramps provide access for pleasure boats, ski boats, pontoon boats and all types of fishing boats. Canoes and kayaks also provide access to areas not easily reached by bigger boats. Marinas around the lake offer gas, fishing tackle, bait, groceries, ice, snacks and refreshments.
