Multiple boat ramps provide easy launching of fishing boats, pleasure boats and water sport craft. Portage of canoes and kayaks is an option at several places around the lake. Over 30 miles of shoreline has either rocky banks or vegetation for cover. The upper end of the lake has a significant number of standing timber.
