Located in practically the dead center of Texas, Stillhouse Hollow Lake (Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir) is a 6,400-acre lake offering a respectable list of fish species. Bass, catfish, crappie, sunfish, gar, white bass and hybrid stripers all reside here for anglers to pursue. In spring and fall the bass, and may other species, move shallow to feed or spawn. In winter and summer, as the baitfish move to deeper water, most fish species follow. Catfishing is good year round as the catfish tend to in or around creek channels. Boat launch ramps facilitate launching of virtually any pleasure or fishing boat. From the campgrounds and parks there is access to the shoreline for fishing from the bank as well as portage of a canoe or kayak.
