Over 150 miles of shoreline await anglers at Lake Ray Roberts (Lake Ray Roberts). It is considered one of the top fishing lakes in Texas. This is a 25,000-acre reservoir in the northeast part of the state, at Pilot Point, and host to a wide variety of fish species. Bass, crappie, white bass, catfish, striped bass, hybrid stripers, gar and several species of sunfish all roam these waters.
The lake is well known for guided fishing trips which help you find the big ones, especially bass and catfish. February and March are the best time for lunker bass, and catfish can be caught year round. Winter crappie fishing can be very fruitful on deep structure, especially around brush piles. White bass, striped bass and hybrids follow schools of baitfish as they move shallow in fall and spring, then deeper in winter and summer. Plenty of boat launch ramps are situated around the lake for convenient launching of pleasure and fishing boats of all kinds. Fishing from the bank and canoe or kayak portage is an option at the parks and other locations around the lake. There are marinas, fish-cleaning stations, bait shops, stores, boat rentals and other products and services available for all your fishing, boating and camping needs at Lake Ray Roberts.
