The state records for both northern pike and walleye were caught from Allegheny Reservoir. And, muskies over 40 lbs are common enough to be as close as one cast away, any time you are on the water. In addition, this fertile lake produces healthy schools of catfish, bass, crappie, perch and other sunfish. Stocked rainbow, brook and brown trout provide a nice trout fishery as well. In all, this is a great place for your next fishing trip. in winter, ice fishing for walleye and northern pike is popular.
The lake has a couple marinas, lots of camping, multiple boat launch ramps, and areas of accessible shoreline for bank fishing. Whether you have a fishing boat, pleasure boat, pontoon, canoe or kayak - this is a great place for boating.
