Bass are the most popular species for anglers at Lake Lowell. However, this 8,800-acre lake in the southwest part of the state, also offers decent fishing for sunfish and catfish. Idaho Fish & Game regularly stocks catfish to enhance the fishing opportunities. The lake, with 28 miles of shoreline, is surrounded by roadways providing access to much of the shore for fishing from the bank or launch of a canoe or kayak. The lake is at an elevation of 2,500 feet above sea level, and often provides ice fishing during winter when there is safe ice.
