The purpose of this page is to share basic information about boat launch ramp locations at popular lakes in the state. Find ways to expand access to additional fishing spots. Reach fishing waters not accessible from shore. Use these boat ramps, launches and landings for easy boating access. Listed here are public boat launch ramps and boat landings, free to the public.

Other launching options may be found at marinas, resorts, parks, campgrounds and RV parks, which may, or may not, require a fee to launch and/or park. Some lakes may also have primitive areas available for launching, often dependent on water level. Some lakes may also have a designated launch area for portage of canoes, kayak and other car-top boats. Always seek permission before using private boat launch ramps. Boating allows access for fishing all the lake, much of which may not be available to anglers fishing from the bank.

Alamo Lake

Located mid-lake on the east side of the lake on Cholla Road.

Main Launch Ramp
This is a paved ramp, located on the southeast corner of the lake near the Alamo Lake Visitor Center.

Apache Lake

Ashurst Lake

One primitive boat ramp is located mid-lake, on the west side of the lake. Other areas around the lake offer portage of canoes and kayaks from camping areas.

A one-lane concrete ramp, with limited parking, is located at the southern tip of the lake, just west of the dam. Depending on water levels, there are numerous areas around the lake for primitive launching or potage of small craft.

Located on the south side of the lake, half way between Windy Hill and School House Point, this is a concrete, four-lane ramp with a dock and paved parking.

Located just west of Windy Hill, this launch area serves the campground by providing a two-lane concrete boat launch ramp with limited parking.

Windy Hill Recreation Site (East)
Located in the bay on the south side of windy hill, there are two boat ramps. One is four lane with docks and primitive parking (used primarily when lake levels are low. The other is an eight-lane ramp with paved parking (used when lake levels are high).

Windy Hill Recreation Site (West)
Located on the west side of windy hill, this boat ramp is six lane with a dock and primitive parking.
