Located approximately twenty miles northwest of Colorado Springs, Rampart Reservoir is a 500 surface-acre lake. Access can be difficult for campers and any type trailer, as the road is not smoothly maintained. Hand-carried kayaks and canoes only - no motorized boats allowed.
On occasion, with notice, motorized boats are allowed for a specified timeframe - check with the Forest Service. Fishing enthusiasts can fish for four species of trout. Ice fishing is not permitted on Rampart Reservoir.
