There are thousands of lakes, ponds and streams available for fishing in the state of Michigan. We will focus here on the larger impoundments offering a nice variety of fish to pursue. Many of these lakes offer fishing boats for rent.
Here, you can fish for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, black crappie, white crappie, walleye, rainbow trout, brook trout, brown trout, lake trout, bluegill, green sunfish, hybrid sunfish, pumpkinseed sunfish, redear sunfish, rock bass, warmouth, white bass, white perch, yellow perch, Atlantic salmon, coho salmon, bowfin, longnose gar, muskie, northern pike, sauger, sturgeon and tiger muskie in local lakes, rivers, ponds and/or streams.
Ice fishing is very popular for many of these sunfish.
